    A: We do offer a collection service, depending on the distance.

  • Q: Can Mayfair Gearbox tow my vechicle for me?

    A: Yes, we can tow you in. Depending on the distance.

  • Q: Can Mayfair Gearbox Centre provide me with a courtesy car whilst my vehicle is being repaired?

    A: Unfortunaltery, we do not provide courtesy vehicles.

  • Q: Is Mayfair Gearbox a reputable company?

    A: Yes we are and the market leaders in our industry. We have been in business for 30 years and have the most sophisticated testing equipment and the most highly trained technicians in Africa.

  • Q: What does a transmission repair cost?

    A: Sometimes we fix  transmission issue's by doing minor adjustments, software updates or by replacing a battery or a fuse. The way is to get your vehicle or unit to us assessed and checked.

  • Q: How long does a repair take?

    A: 1. First we would like to assess your unit and see if any external parts might be causing your problem, like a clutch adjustment, gear lever, sensor, wiring etc.

    2. We keep over 4,000 transmissions in stock nationwide so we can fit any popular model vehicle with a reman exchange unit. 

    3. Otherwise we could do a strip and quote which should only take a few days.

  • Q: What Warranty does Mayfair Gearbox offer?

    A: Our standard warranty is one year, 20 000 kilometres. Some cheaper ’repair options’ offer limited warranties. 

  • Q: How can I save costs on a repair?

    A: We will offer you many options, from a reman exchange to a repair option and in some cases a used gearbox or minor repair.
